FAQs
Why can't we refurbish the existing skate park?
After a geotechnical investigation, it has been determined that the flat areas of the park do not have structural rebar in place, the existing slabs are much thinner than current industry standard and some of the areas of the park are missing underlay material. As a result, refinishing or pouring concrete over the existing park risks cracking within a short period of time. Replacement of the skate park ensures this asset a much longer life span. Work is underway to determine if existing concrete could be re-used as structural fill.
