The Mayne Island Parks and Recreation Service is a community park network managed and operated by volunteers who sit on the Mayne Island Parks & Recreation Commission (MIPRC). These volunteer commissioners manage community parks, shore accesses, and trails on Mayne Island according to the Mayne Island Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
The Master Plan expires in 2025, making it time to review the system of community parks and recreation opportunities on Mayne Island and to plan the strategic direction for the next five years.
MIPRC is engaging the community to ensure it is informed and that Master Plan amendments reflect the needs, priorities, and desires of the wider Mayne Island community and interested First Nations.
MIPRC’s goal is a well-informed, community-driven Mayne Island Parks & Recreation Master Plan update that aligns with the parks and recreation needs and priorities of Mayne Island residents and interested First Nations.
